My pets! Young and old

Luna
We found Luna in 2018 at the Austin Animal Shelter in central Texas on one of their free adoption days. She was spotted curled up on a pillow twice her size, and to this day the top of a pile of softness is one of her favorite places to be.
Skitty
Skitty was a street cat who was left behind by her previous owners.
Around 2011, we bribed her into our Las Vegas apartment with
barbecue chicken pizza and she lived with us until she got outside
one day about four years later and disappeared.
She was a sweetheart, and initially very shy which is where she got
her name “Skittish Kitty” (also the Pokemon Skitty). She loved to
scream all through the night and spend the day lazing. I like to think
she was adopted by another well-meaning couple and she lived a
long happy life.
Hairy
He was more of my mom’s cat but Hairy was a fixture of our
household while I was in high school. A big cat, Hairy liked to spend
the day sleeping and was usually pretty quiet. He was surprisingly
tolerant and was frequently bothered by my young niece and
nephews. He was more dog-like than most cats and loved to play
with his snake and be called “good dog”. My dad and everyone in our
family loved Hairy dearly and we were devastated when he
disappeared one day, soon after Skitty.
Tessa
My childhood dog, Tessa loved to run. Every day we’d let her out in
the yard and she would run laps along the fence. As she got older,
she became more of a couch potato but she always wanted to be
where the people were. Even at dinner time, she would take a
mouthful of kibble from her bowl in the kitchen and bring it over to
where we were to eat it. She hated baths and was pretty stinky,
but we loved her anyway.
Kitty
The cat who was there before me. She was my mom’s cat in the 90s,
a big brown tabby with an attitude. She taught me about respecting
animals and personal space. She didn’t want to be pet all the time
but when she was ready she would come lay down with you, and
then you could pet her for a while. She loved to lay on the couch
with us and watch movies.
